Materials and Care Guides

Materials
We use high-quality materials to create jewelry that is durable, hypoallergenic, and easy to maintain for everyday wear.

All of our pieces are made with 14k gold filled and titanium steel, with some earrings featuring 925 sterling silver posts (as marked).

Gold filled is a U.S. industry standard that requires 5% pure gold by weight. A thick layer of 14k gold is bonded to a base metal (typically brass) using heat and pressure. Gold filled jewelry has up to 100 times more gold than standard gold plating, making it more durable, water resistant, and safe for sensitive skin. With proper care, gold filled jewelry can last 10–30 years without the gold layer wearing off.

Because gold filled material is only available in wire or sheet form, more complex designs may use gold vermeil or gold plated over brass instead.

Titanium steel is known for its exceptional resistance to tarnishing, corrosion, and scratches. It is commonly used in medical and jewelry applications, making it an excellent choice for sensitive skin and daily wear.

Care Guide
With a little love and care, your jewelry can stay beautiful for years to come.

After each wear, gently wipe your jewelry with a soft, dry cloth to remove skin oils and residue.

For gold filled pieces, clean weekly with warm water and mild soap to prevent build-up. Dry thoroughly.

Keep your jewelry away from perfumes, lotions, hairspray, and other harsh chemicals, as they can affect the finish over time.

Remove your jewelry before swimming, showering, exercising, or entering hot tubs.

Gold filled jewelry does not tarnish, but it may oxidize slightly over time. If it looks dull, gently polish with a jewelry cloth to restore its shine.

Titanium steel is extremely low maintenance, but you can wipe it clean with a damp cloth and dry it thoroughly to maintain its luster.

For earrings with 925 sterling silver posts, keep them dry and store them in a sealed bag to minimize tarnishing. If needed, use a silver polishing cloth to clean.
